Medical genetics & genomics residency
The Washington University/St. Louis Children’s Hospital Medical Genetics residency is a two-year, ACGME-accredited program for physicians with previous residency experience who are interesting in pursuing a career in medical genetics.
Pediatric/medical genetics combined residency
Our four-year combined pediatrics-medical genetics ACGME-accredited program provides the formal instruction and clinical training necessary for the development of physicians who are fully qualified in both specialties who are primed to pursue academic careers in medical genetics and genomics.
Medical biochemical genetics fellowship
This is a one-year ACGME-accredited subspecialty program that offers a comprehensive and advanced educational experience for board certified or board eligible medical geneticists seeking further expertise to manage children and adult patients with inborn errors of metabolism and planning to pursue academic careers in medical genetics and genomics with specific focus on metabolic disorders.

Genomic Medicine Postdoctoral Research Program
Department of Pediatrics
Our goal is to support physician-scientists who are engaging in medical genetics research. This program is funded by an NIH T32 institutional training grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS).
Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellowship
Department of Pathology & Immunology
For trainees interested in acquiring the skills needed to direct a diagnostic laboratory (including qualification to be certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics), the Department of Pathology offers training in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. In addition, a one-year training program in Molecular Genetic Pathology is offered as a joint undertaking between the Divisions of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology, Laboratory and Genomic Medicine and Neuropathology.
Master’s Program in Genetic Counseling

The Program in Genetic Counseling is an innovative, 21-month Master of Science program that will prepare graduates to become a Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC®) through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
